Pregnancy MOT

We recommend a Pregnancy MOT check with a Women’s Health physio to guide you to exercise safely during pregnancy, help manage any back, groin or hip pain and help you prepare for birth. This is suitable for women with symptoms as above, or for women who want a check-up with advice and preventative information.

Pregnancy MOT - MEPS

What is a Pregnancy MOT?

  • 1-hour Pregnancy MOT prenatal assessment with a specialist women’s health practitioner.
  • Pelvic and musculoskeletal examination of your back, posture, pelvis and functional movement.
  • External pelvic health check.
  • Bespoke treatment plan.

Your growing baby changes your centre of gravity which will affect your posture. We will conduct a pelvic and musculoskeletal examination of your back, posture, pelvis and functional movement.

You will be taught how to connect and correctly strengthen and relax your pelvic floor muscles to be leak-free and prevent other pelvic floor dysfunction.

If you experience, back, pelvic pain or other joint or muscular problems, we will discuss a treatment plan to help manage it. Your treatment plan will take into consideration your goals, and lifestyle and outline safe exercises to stay active throughout your pregnancy whether you are an athlete or just starting a routine. We will also take into consideration your wants and needs after giving birth.

Your practitioner can provide information for labour including perineal massage and assisting in creating your birth plan. Your practitioner can discuss a plan of care and treatment options as necessary to feel well and healthy during your journey towards the birth of your baby.
